Custom designs require working with clients at the concept level
with discussions, sketches, and photographs (digital
preferred). The conceptual design is input to special CAD
design software that creates a virtual panel in an approximation
of final glass texture and color. The design can be printed or
emailed for further discussions refine the design.
When the form of the design is set, it is printed in black
and white outline form full size on a large plotter. The
individual pieces are cut from the printed outline. The
fabrication stage is very important. Being intimately hands on,
it presents the opportunity for a higher level of artistic
selection of glass texture, direction, and color beyond what is
possible in CAD. Fabrication may require minor layout tweaks.
Reinforcement methods for panel longevity are also worked at at
that time.
Shipment, delivery, or delivery and installation (at
additional cost), complete the process.
